Are You Also Using Aluminium Utensils In Your Kitchen

The utensils made of aluminium is the most commonly used ones in our daily life. We can see many households using them and even some restaurants. Most people think they are the best products for cooking and eating food, but they are not safe to use. Through the following parts, we will know why aluminium utensils are not safe to use.

Aluminium containers can be a cheaper alternative to stainless steel or even carbon steel utensils. However, there are many disadvantages of aluminium and using these utensils in cooking as they may not hold their shapes, they can warp and change shape in extreme temperatures and react with food. The food being prepared will also lose its taste in the cooking process because the taste from the food is absorbed into the aluminium utensils. Let’s discuss some disadvantages of an aluminium container in the kitchen

  1. Cause of Alzheimer’s Disease: Aluminium Containers and pots & pans can leach the metal into food and drink. This may lead to Alzheimer’s disease and other types of brain damage. However, this risk can be minimized by storing aluminium away from heat sources, avoiding it when microwaving food, thoroughly washing any utensils that have been used with acidic or spicy foods, and storing acidic or alcoholic beverages in glass containers.
  2. Breast Cancer: Aluminium containers contaminate food with aluminium. Because it is a neurotoxin, aluminium builds up in human tissue over time and interferes with cell metabolism. It has been linked to Alzheimer’s, bone quality issues and breast cancer. Children should not be fed with aluminium containers due to the lowered immunity they have. Breast Cancer patients should avoid ingesting aluminium compounds.
  3. Bone Problem: Lines formed in the palms and fingers are caused when there is the deposition of calcium in the palm. This kind of calcium deposition also called porously or porosity due to aluminium using (Aluminum-diet)or aluminium utensils material is related to bone disorders such as osteomalacia.
  4. Parkinson’s Disease:  (PD) is a neurodegenerative movement disorder. Some evidence shows that exposure to aluminium could be a risk factor for parkinsonism, although epidemiological studies provide inconsistent results. You should know how bad aluminium is for your health.
  5. Autism Problem: There is a lot of research going on about the potential link between the use of aluminium pots and pans and Autism in children. There is no absolute link but there is cause for concern if you are cooking with aluminium containers.

Wrapping-Up:   Aluminium utensils don’t use in your kitchen for cooking. Aluminium baking pans should also be avoided as well as aluminium foil used for baking. Even though most of us don’t realize it, cooking with aluminium utensils can be toxic. It involves the release of aluminium ions into your food, which have been connected to Alzheimer’s disease and many other health issues as we discuss above. You can use stainless steel utensils to avoid aluminium containers
